NEPHAK TRAINS 100 MORE AMBASADORS FOR TB

NEPHAK took its war against TB among PLHAs a notch higher by training an additional 100 ambassadors on July 23-25th. The 100 ambasadors commissioned on 1st August 2008 brings the total number to 200 across the country.

The objective of the training held at the Kunste Hotel Nakuru was to train the ambassadors on the basics of Tuberculosis including its causes, signs and symptoms as well as its treatment. They were also trained on prevention of TB infection. They were olso trained on TB advocacy and community campaign. A part from tracking defaulters the ambassadors will also hold health talks in public gatherings including schools, churches as well as chiefs barazas.

The ambassadors will partner with health centres to there respective areas of jurisdiction and will assist in tracking defaulters of TB treatment as well as identifying new cases.
