Hiv leadership through accountability

Dear Colleagues

HIV Leadership through Accountability Website

In order to enhance the sharing of experiences, successes and challenges, a web-based platform has been developed to host discussions and share resources and information between all Programme partners.

The framework for the site was established after consultation with focal points, GNP+ programme officers and WAC staff in 2009 and taking into account the input from the HIV Leadership through Accountability Programme Planning and Review meeting in January 2010. Whilst building the site the focus has been on how best to share learning and best practice in a way that is both replicable and also allows for local input and ownership.

The main functions of the web platform include:

  • Sharing the HIV Leadership through Accountability Programme to the public;
  • Increasing transparency about the Programme, processes and results;
  • Sharing information, experiences and learning amongst Programme partners;
  • Assisting with implementation of Programme with online M&E tools;
  • Creating a database of information resources and technical tools; and
  • Informing regional and global responses to HIV.

The website can be accessed at www.hivleadership.org. The site is currently available only in English, though translation options are being considered.

In order to finalise the site I would be extremely grateful if you would review the information for your network (click the appropriate link below) and inform me of any amendments as appropriate:

·Cameroon – RéCAP+

·Ethiopia – NEP+

·Kenya – NEPHAK

·Moldova – The League

·Nigeria - NEPWHAN

· South Africa - NAPWA

·Zambia – NZP+

I would also welcome any comments or input that you may have on the rest of the website. Once the front-end of the website is up-to-date we can begin to discuss how best to use the discussion groups and other features in the back-end of the website, which requires a username and password, which I will generate for you.

In the meantime if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards

Gavin
