In a strategic move that performance and accountability of community leaders NEPHAK is now providing institutional support to community leaders representing affected communities in various initiatives, including at the international levels. Key among these is support to NEPHAK National Coordinator for the Community Delegation team at the board of the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), Community Representation at the Global Laboratories Initiative (GLI) Working Group at the Stop TB Partnership (http://www.stoptb.org/ ) and the Support Delegation Team at the UNITAID Board (http://www.unitaid.eu/en/Communities-Space.html ) and support to Francis George Apina who is representing communities at the TB/HIV Working Group (http://www.stoptb.org/wg/tb_hiv/ ) at the Stop TB Partnership. Institutional and infrastructural support to NEPHAK means that these community leaders have reliable mechanism of reaching groups and networks of affected community members, including people living with HIV (PLHIV), TB patients/survivors and those affected by Malaria. This is in addition to national representation at the Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM), the HIV/AIDS Joint Inter-coordinating Committee (HIV/AIDS ICC) and the TB Joint Interco-coordinating Committee (TB ICC). The next plan is to reach out to other Kenyan community leaders and  develop mechanism for joint coordination and support.
